Beloit City Council Approves Submission of Grant Application

Last night at the Beloit City Council meeting, the board approved the submission of a grant application to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the 2022 Surface Transportation Program-Urban, Surface Transportation Program-Rural, and Local Bridge Improvement Assistance Program. If the grant is awarded, funds will go towards the resurfacing of St. Lawrence Ave. between McKinley Ave. and Frederick St. The total project cost is estimated at $366,740. The grant application is for up to 80%, which would be $293,390, and the required local match would be 20%, or $73,350. Construction for the project would take place in either 2022 or 2023.
