17 Year Old from Beloit Dead After Vehicle Accident

According to a Rock County Sheriff’s Office press release, yesterday at about 12:30 p.m. deputies responded to a report of a one vehicle crash in a field off S. State Highway 213 between S. Kettle and S. Smyths School Roads in the Town of Newark. Fire and Rescue

personnel from the Village Orfordville and City of Beloit also responded to assist. The investigation shows that a blue 2012 Ford Focus was northbound on S. State Highway 213 when the vehicle drifted into the east shoulder, left the road, went down a ravine and came back uphill in a field east of S. Kettle Rd. The driver was a 17 year old male from Beloit, and he was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased. He was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, which remains under investigation.
