16 Year Old Dead, 17 Year Old Injured In Rock County Crash

1 person is dead and another is injured after a traffic crash in Rock County. According to the Rock County Sheriff’s Office, around 3:30 Thursday afternoon, firefighters and police responded to W County Trunk K and Fossum Road for a single vehicle that had crashed. An investigation determined that the vehicle was on a curve on County Trunk K. Two individuals were in the vehicle, which the SO says lost control in the curve and went into a ditch, flipping several times. A 16-year old girl from Orfordville was ejected from the vehicle and declared dead at the scene, while the driver, a 17-year old boy from Beloit, was transported with non-life threatening injuries. Police say neither individual had seatbelts on. The crash remains under investigation, with the Rock County Sheriff’s Office, RCSO Reconstruction Team, and the Rock County Medical Examiner involved in the investigation.
